Almost every country in South America has reported Coronavirus cases as of April, there is a big fear the majority of the countries will suffer since they are not prepared for such a devastating incident. The weather conditions were thought to be able to reduce the impact but it seems the numbers of cases are on the rise. The health system  is not ready to handle a high influx of cases .

South America had better lead time to prepare compared to other countries like Italy and China but that might not have helped as the results show that the covid-19 is spreading. Many countries have started to ban flights from countries known to have the Coronavirus. Other measures were taken such as banning big gatherings and closing schools.
